O is for October

O is also for "oh."

As in: "Mom, do you think the United States will crumble under the weight of its own stupidity?"
"Oh, probably."

Things are getting scary. Also, Halloween will soon be upon us and as our regular reader knows, that means the arrival of this, our 6th annual Typing Monkey Halloween Frenzy.

We'll do our best during the next four weeks to show you cool pictures, videos, links to good reads and other fun stuff. ("Uh, how is different from what you normally do?") Because it will all be Halloween themed stuff, that's how. Geez!

Get yourself a cup of something, grab a donut, and enjoy this mash-up from Go Home Productions, still the best mash-up DJ around. He made a video for this one, and it's gone from his YouTube channel, but some enterprising young person called kliz9 posted it again.

Hurry! You'll miss your bus!

Q: What do you want to do with your life?

A: I wanna rawk! (And then tidy up the place and steam-clean the carpets after I'm finished.)

And a Foot Massage Too (Socks Optional)

Today we realized that it's been four years since The Typing Monkey began -- as of Jan 21. So that's two years in a row we forgot our own damn anniversary.

Thank you for reading. We wish we could take each and every one of you home with us, make you a nice dinner, put on a Boz Scaggs record, maybe have a drink or two and listen while you tell us about your day. Then you can fall asleep on the couch while we watch disc two of the Ernie Kovacs DVD box set.

Anyway, hooray for four years of blogging! Here's a YouTube video of "Clap Your Hands, Stomp Your Feet" by Dutch glam-rockers Bonnie St. Claire & Unit Gloria:

You Made It

Congratulations. If you're reading this, you're alive and it's 2012 -- not too shabby. The Typing Monkey hopes that you reached the finish of 2011 with all the usual amenities of life intact and have few, if any, regrets.

Some believe this is the start of our final year of existence. Whether an ancient culture has correctly predicted our demise or not, this all ends for each of us in our own way eventually.

The road ends, the bridge is out up ahead, there's an exit ramp with your name on it. But the ride there is full of sights, scenery and roadside attractions that can make the getting there fun.

Look! Here's Suzi Quatro singing "48 Crash." Righteous!

Oh You! (Pretty Thing)

Just in case she's reading, this one goes out to The Amazing Mrs. Kendall.

Why So Quiet?

We've pissed away the days playing Wonderputt. It is evil and ruins marriages and we envy you if you are about to enjoy it for the first time. Horrible stuff. Really.

Now then:

"It's very difficult to keep the line between the past and the present. You know what I mean?"

We'll be back soon.
